GETAC Shows “Fully Rugged” PS535E PDA
The GETAC product range includes rugged computers for harsh environments. The other day, it was replenished with a PS535E pocket computer, which the manufacturer itself classifies as a fully protected device (Fully Rugged PDA). However, consumers hoping to buy a truly “indestructible” PDA should not flatter themselves – we are only talking about compliance with the requirements of the MIL-STD-810F standard and the IP54 rating.
One of the features of the rugged handheld computer is the display, according to the manufacturer, well readable even in difficult conditions of direct sunlight. The ESRI Worldwide Business Partner Conference was chosen as the place for the debut of an interesting novelty, within the framework of which the GIS Solutions Expo was organized. Alongside the PS535E, GETAC will showcase the recently unveiled E100 Tablet, M230 Notebook and V100 Convertible Notebook.
The PS535E is configured with a navigation receiver, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth adapters. According to the company, the device can operate on a single battery charge for eight hours. The PDA is equipped with a 3.5-inch screen, built on a Samsung S3C2440A processor (400 MHz), 64 MB of RAM, 2 GB of flash memory and a slot for SD cards. Dimensions of a device running Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0, are 144.25 x 82.25 x 29.3 mm, weight – 300 g.
