InterDigital to reveal ExpressCard mobile broadband modems very soon

InterDigital intends to include mobile broadband solutions in its exposition at Mobile World Congress 2021, which will be held in Spain from 11 to 14 February. We are talking about modems built on a reference platform developed by the company’s specialists.

The InterDigital SlimChip modem is made in the ExpressCard34 standard size and is intended primarily for use in conjunction with mobile computers. A laptop equipped with SlimChip is said to be able to receive data at up to 7.2 Mbps and transfer it at up to 1.5 Mbps (HSPA). In addition, the company will show the element base of the modem – a chipset and a software and hardware platform that can serve as a basis for products designed for connection using an ExpressCard or USB interface, as well as miniature cards for UMPC.

SlimChip modem chip supports 2G and 3G physical layers, and supports GSM, GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA, HSDPA and HSUPA.
