Developer’s Description
Saitek PZ31A Pro Gamer Command Pad –
IPhone software will only be distributed through Apple’s online store

IPhone apps built with the iPhone SDK will be distributed exclusively through the online App Store, with a client coming in a future mid-year update to the phone’s operating system.

Thus, Apple will control applications, preventing the mass official distribution of programs containing malicious code, illegal content, as well as functionality that the Cupertino company itself does not want to see in these applications. This approach to the distribution of programs potentially reduces their functionality due to restrictions that the company will certainly introduce. For example, during a Q&A session held by Apple executives after the SDK presentation was over, Philip Schiller said that Apple would not be against the release of a VoIP client for the iPhone, but only if Wi-Fi is used for data transmission, and not cellular. On the other hand, such a unified software distribution procedure will help ensure its availability and security.

Apps purchased from the App Store can be downloaded wirelessly directly to iPhone. Another way is to use iTunes software for Mac or PC, however, in this case, you lose the ability to use automatic updates of downloaded programs, which is available when you wirelessly connect to the App Store directly from the gadget.

For posting programs in the App Store, Apple will withhold 30% of the proceeds from software sales, paying authors 70% monthly. According to company executives, Apple does not aim to profit from iPhone software sales, and all commissions will be used to cover the costs necessary for the operation of the online store. At the same time, the company will not charge payment for the distribution of free applications (although, of course, Apple will retain the control functions in this case too).

For placing programs in the App Store, the developer will have to pay a payment of $ 99 per year.
