SpaceIllusion is NTT’s new 3D screen

Japanese telecommunications giant NTT, with the help of engineers
Hitachi Displays, Creates a New Original 3D Screen
on liquid crystals. The development was named SpaceIllusion.

As you know, such display devices are usually characterized by two
disadvantages: either
need extra glasses for
in order to see that same three-dimensional image, or when
prolonged viewing of this 3D image your eyes
get tired. As the source notes, the development of NTT is devoid of
both disadvantages.

Technically SpaceIllusion is a sandwich of two LCD screens,
located at a distance of 10 mm from each other. As you might have already guessed,
the second screen is needed in order to form a picture slightly different from
first screen images. Thus, usually, the effect is achieved
converting 2D image to 3D.

To maximize the effect of the three-dimensional picture, you need to be from the screen at
distance of about one meter. With my own eyes, except for our colleagues from the resource
CNET, visitors could see this
the recent CEATEC exhibition in Japan.
