NVIDIA G92 and G98 will have built-in audio controller

OCWorkbench writes that the next graphics processors NVIDIA G92 and G98, the release of video cards based on which is expected in November this year, will acquire an integrated sound controller.

If the information is confirmed, then the products of the middle and lower price ranges, using NVIDIA chips, will catch up in functionality with the products of competitors, AMD Radeon 2400/2600, in which the audio controller is integrated into the core.

For the sake of fairness, we note that a number of manufacturers still released cards based on GeForce 8400/8500/8600 with the ability to output audio via DVI / HDMI, for which they had to provide for the presence of an S / PDIF-in interface on the cards.

Owners of most video cards based on GeForce 8000 are deprived of the ability to output sound to a plasma or LCD panel simultaneously with a video signal via a digital interface, which will be corrected in the next generation of NVIDIA chips.
