Kaspersky Lab: Kaspersky Hosted Security: mailDefend v.3.0
Kaspersky Lab announces the release of a new, third version of the IT security outsourcing service Kaspersky Hosted Security: mailDefend.
The main goals of the release of version 3.0 are improving the quality of recognition of spam messages; adding flexibility in settings and service management – an especially relevant feature for large and distributed companies; making it easier for end users to interact with mailDefend.
With the release of the new version, the Kaspersky Hosted Security: mailDefend service will meet the needs of not only small and medium-sized businesses, but also large companies whose IT services need to adequately distribute efforts and minimize the risks associated with IT threats. The proposed solution does not require installation, configuration and support, as well as the purchase of any additional software or hardware.
“New features implemented in Kaspersky Hosted Security: mailDefend version 3.0, allowed us to achieve better results in a number of important parameters than our main global competitors, – says Andrey Nikishin, director of IT security outsourcing at Kaspersky Lab. – I am sure that the new version of our service will find well-deserved recognition not only in Russia, but also on the international market “.
Among the innovations implemented in the third version of the Kaspersky Hosted Security service: mailDefend is the ability to create an unlimited number of user groups, which can include both individual mail addresses from one or several mail domains, and entire mail domains. Also, the new version provides the ability to assign separate policies for user groups.
Kaspersky Hosted Security: mailDefend version 3.0 gives multiple system administrators of the client company the right to manage the system using unique identifiers, while administrators can have different privileges when accessing the mailDefend management system.
The new version of this service also has the ability to receive a report that allows you to assess the efficiency of Kaspersky Hosted Security: mailDefend.
Another innovation is the function of sending the quarantine digest on a schedule – both for an individual mailbox and for groups.
Also of note is the support for TLS connections. If the mail server supports the client for authentication and encryption of the transmitted traffic via the TLS protocol, the mailDefend service will use this particular protocol.
In addition, in the Kaspersky Hosted Security service: mailDefend 3.0 improved proactive protection module Kaspersky BitHunt, which allows you to detect unknown malware, phishing and spam. Improvements mainly affected the reputation service RenommeeControl, which allows you to effectively block fast spam mailings.
All innovations are available to customers automatically, without any additional steps to activate them.
Simultaneously with the launch of the new version, Kaspersky Lab opens two new data centers – in Frankfurt (Germany) and Paris (France). The server capacities of the existing center in Amsterdam (Holland) were also expanded. Thus, the Kaspersky Hosted Security: mailDefend service now operates in four
data centers. Kaspersky Lab plans to further increase the number of data centers and expand the capacity of existing.
To simplify access to the technical support service, a special telephone number has been allocated for service customers.
