iMac with Penryn coming in a week?

MacNotes website.de reports that Apple’s iMac desktop lineup could be updated next week. The iMac, like Apple laptops, uses a mobile version of the Intel Core 2 Duo processor, but while the MacBook and MacBook Pro lines have already migrated to the new Penryn processor core, the iMac still has Merom processors.

MacRumors, in turn, says that such a rush to update Mac computers may be due to pressure from Intel, which is rumored to be trying to end the release of Core 2 Duo processors, produced using 65nm technology, in favor of the new 45 -nanometer chips, so if Apple wants to get enough processors on time, it simply has to switch all computers to use the next generation CPU.
