Copier-translators are just around the corner, Fuji Xerox assures and shows the first one
At one of the Japanese exhibitions, Fuji Xerox showed a prototype of the device, without which in the future, perhaps, no training or workplace will do. She showed a copier (rather, an MFP) that can scan an original document written in Japanese and print a translated copy in Korean, Chinese, or English, preserving formatting. Reverse translation is also supported.
The secret of the Fuji Xerox prototype is that it connects over the network to a PC with a translator program that receives the job and sends the finished result for printing to the MFP.
Well, the idea of translation at the touch of a button seems to be quite viable, it remains to bring the quality to an acceptable level.
