ASUS EN8800GTS TOP / HTDP / 512M: another 7% to the speed of GeForce 8800 GTS 512 MB
Launch of NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS 512 MB graphics accelerators on the market was another “attack of the clones”. The vast majority of newly introduced products are exact copies of the reference design with frequencies recommended by NVIDIA.
We have already written about the rare original accelerators announced so far, now we will note for the release of the original product the ASUS company, which, in addition to the standard version EN8800GTS / HTDP / 512M, also prepared the overclocked EN8800GTS TOP / HTDP / 512M.
The graphics core frequency of this product has been increased from the recommended 650 MHz to an impressive 740 MHz. The shader unit operates at 1800 MHz instead of the 1625 MHz standard for most reference design solutions.
Finally, GDDR3 memory runs at 2070 MHz (1940 MHz reference design).
The final gain of the novelty in the 3DMark06 test, according to the manufacturer, was 7% – the result is higher than that of the EN8800GTS / HTDP / 512M (11782 versus 10972 points on the test bench with a processor with a 4-core Intel CPU).
Both newly released cards will come with DVI-to-D-Sub, S-video-HDTV adapters and ASUS proprietary software. Buyers will not receive free games this time.
