Akasa launches its first graphics card cooler
Akasa Starts Shipping Its First Air Cooler for Vortexx Graphics Cards. The novelty is positioned for use with adapters AMD / ATI Radeon X1800, X1900, X1950 and NVIDIA GeForce 6800, 7800 (PCI-Express) and 7900GTX. Akasa’s engineering team reportedly developed the cooler in collaboration with graphics card manufacturers.
The Vortexx uses two copper heatpipes to connect a copper base to a heatsink that is cooled by a 70mm fan. The latter operates at a speed of 2300 rpm./ min, while its performance (0.40 ° C / W), according to Akasa, corresponds to the level of “conventional” high-speed fans (5000 rpm./ min).
Vortexx installs without the need for tools and connects to the motherboard using a 3-pin header.
