Biostar boards on NVIDIA MCP73: photos and specifications

The upcoming NVIDIA MCP73 chipsets (GeForce 7×50 northbridge and nForce 6x0i southbridge in one chip) for the Intel platform are seen as interesting solutions for creating compact media centers, especially considering the presence of support for HDMI output and hardware acceleration of HD video decoding. Nevertheless, until recently, there was not even unofficial information about specific upcoming boards.

Thus, one of the first manufacturers to “light up” their MCP73-based products was Biostar.

The GF7050V-M7 is made in the Micro ATX form factor (like the other two products) and is built on a bundle of GeForce 7050 and nForce 610i. Officially, the maximum supported FSB frequency is 1066 MHz, unofficially – 1333 MHz.

DDR2-800 memory will, like other products using the MCP73, work in single channel mode.

Number of SATAII ports – four, PATA – one, USB – eight. The network adapter will be 100 megabits.

The second product, TF7050-M7, is based on a slightly more advanced GeForce 7050 and nForce 620i. Here, support for processors with FSB 1333 MHz will already be official, in addition, a pair of USB ports will be added and the network adapter will become gigabit.

The flagship product of the Biostar line will be the TF7150U-M7 (GeForce 7150 and nForce 630i), equipped with a discrete network controller (not part of the south bridge of the chipset) and HDMI output.

Biostar, like other manufacturers, should officially unveil their boards with the announcement of NVIDIA MCP73, scheduled for September 25.
