Toshiba Announces 22 ”Display with 3840 x 2400 (!) pixels

Toshiba (or rather, its division Toshiba Solutions) announced a new 22-inch monitor. What’s unusual about it? Yes, the fact that the declared resolution of the novelty is not 1680 x 1050 or even 1920 x 1200 pixels, but 3840 x 2400 (QUXGA-W)!

The manufacturer plans to achieve this indicator by reducing the pixel size to 0.1245 mm.

Unfortunately, other characteristics had to be sacrificed for resolution:

  • Brightness: 235 nits
  • Contrast: 300: 1
  • Viewing angles: 120 ° horizontal and 100 ° vertical
  • Interface: Dual Link DVI-D
  • Power Consumption (Max): 130W

Deliveries of such a unique product should begin in the second quarter of next year, but few will be able to afford to buy it – after all, the price of 17.5 thousand dollars allows you to purchase 20 “regular” 22-inch monitors. In addition, to connect such a display to a PC, you will have to purchase an additional special video card with a PCI interface from the same Toshiba for about $ 2800. Impressive isn’t it?
