SeaLATCH brackets prevent USB cables from falling out of connectors
As you know, on the motherboards of many PCs, the pins of the USB ports, designed in the form of pin connectors, remain unused. Sealevel Systems has added SeaLATCH brackets to its range, equipped with USB Type A connectors, with which you can “add” additional ports to your PC using the connectors on the motherboard. A feature of SeaLATCH brackets is the ability to mechanically secure USB cables to prevent accidental disconnection.
Three product options are available: a full-height PCI bar, a low-profile PCI bar, and a panel-mount bracket. All of them are designed for connection to standard male connectors and support Hi-Speed (480 Mbps), Full-Speed (12 Mbps) and Low-Speed (1.5 Mbps) modes. The full height bar is available in two versions: one and two USB ports.
The complete list of new products looks like this:
- SL-PM: bracket for panel mounting with one USB connector – $ 9.95;
- SL-LPCI: low-profile PCI bracket with one USB connector – $ 19.95;
- SL-PCI: full-height PCI bar with one USB connector – $ 19.95;
- SL-PCI2: full-height PCI bar with two USB connectors – $ 29.95;
In addition, the company offers USB cables that can be clipped into SeaLATCH brackets.
