ProStor Systems releases “the world’s first” archiving system based on removable hard drives

InfiniVault is built around removable RDX media. Replaceable media company ProStor Systems considers it a very attractive choice for data backup systems.

InfiniVault claims to be the world’s first data backup system to use removable hard drives. The use of RDX media allows for high speed, reliability and durability. The stated cartridge storage time is 30 years.

At the same time, the new product combines the benefits of hard drives with those of tape – unlimited capacity, scalability and environmental protection. In other words, the novelty combines the best of two worlds: they are more reliable than tape; cheaper than systems based on non-removable hard drive arrays.

The InfiniVault family includes three configuration options.

InfiniVault Model 3 (pictured right) is designed for small businesses and remote offices. It is an integrated mini-tower system and provides concurrent access to 1.6 TB of data. InfiniVault Model 3 MSRP $ 10,995.

InfiniVault Model 30 (pictured left) is targeted at high-demand consumers. Rack-mountable, it can be configured to access 11 TB of data concurrently. InfiniVault Model 30 price depends on configuration and starts at $ 29,995.

The eldest model of the family – InfiniVault Model 100 (pictured – center). It is suitable for medium-sized enterprises that need access to a large amount of information at the same time. Like its predecessor, the Model 100 comes in a rack-mountable module form factor. Maximum concurrent storage capacity – 39 TB. InfiniVault Model 100 Pricing Starts at $ 74,995.
