ASUS Z7S-WS Skulltrail Board Available Now
ASUS Z7S-WS boards appeared on the Japanese market, supporting the installation of two Intel LGA771 processors and three video cards.
The functionality of the new item is somewhat more modest than that of the Intel D5400XS, at least in terms of interfaces for graphics accelerators – two full-speed PCI Express x16 and one full-size, operating at x8 speed.
But in terms of the memory subsystem, ASUS declares support for FB-DIMMs with a total volume of up to 24 GB instead of 16 for Intel (while the north bridge of the boards is the same).
In addition, the new product has two gigabit network ports, and not one.
The disk system of the boards is identical.
Unfortunately, the price of the ASUS product turned out to be even higher than we predicted. In Japan, such a board sells for about 620 (!) dollars.
