Nikon equipment opens up the possibility of serial production of chips at 43nm standards

As it became known, the Nikon NSR-S610C immersion scanner will be used to release 43nm NAND flash memory. This was announced at the 4th International Symposium on Immersion Lithography by Nikon and Toshiba.

The NSR-S610C (NA = 1.30) is the world’s first immersion lithography scanner designed for serial production of 45nm and smaller memory chips and 32nm logic chips.

The previous model, the NSR-S609B, was the world’s first batch production scanner using immersion lithography. Its deliveries began in January 2021. In turn, the first NSR-610C was shipped to the customer in February 2021.

Recall that one of the features of the NSR-S610C is the Local Fill Technology, which allows you to deal with inhomogeneities in the liquid and wafers, improving the quality of the chips.

Nikon is currently the market leader in lithography equipment for microelectronic manufacturing. The company estimates that there are about 7,800 exposure systems installed around the world, used in the production of semiconductor chips, flat panel displays and thin-film magnetic heads.
