Astro-Med will soon reveal a new jet printer

National Business Aviation Association’s 60th Annual Meeting & Convention (NBAA2021) will be held September 25-27 in Atlanta. NBAA conferences, which are attended by representatives of airlines, manufacturers and officials, are traditionally a venue for the presentation of new aircraft, navigation equipment, construction and finishing materials, and other products. Astro-Med has pledged to unveil a new printer at the event, specially designed for use in the cockpit of business jets.

Astro-Med’s Tom Carll commented on the launch: “The business jet printer completes the ToughWriter 4 family of printers. They have earned widespread acceptance in the commercial and military aviation market and this new printer will allow us to directly target the growing business jet market. “.

Currently, Astro-Med printers are used in Airbus A380 and A400M, Boeing C-17, B-787, B-777, B-747, B-767, and Lockheed C-130 aircraft.

Among the features of ToughWriter 4, the manufacturer notes high speed and resolution of printing, compliance with ARINC 744A requirements, PostScript 3 support.0, ARINC 429 and 10BaseT Ethernet ports. The printer uses thermal technology, which the company has specialized in for over twelve years. Maximum paper size 8.5 inches wide (uses roll paper with 11 inch perforation), A4 and B4 wide paper can be used. The ToughWriter 4 has a 10,000 hour MTBF, an important metric for aviation equipment.
