Intel to add another 45nm processor to the E8000 family

Intel will add another 45nm processor from the E8000 family to its January desktop dual-core model, according to a source citing motherboard manufacturers.

In addition to the E8200, E8400 and E8500 processors, the company plans to release the E8190 model. This microprocessor will have a clock speed of 2.66 GHz, 6 MB of L2 cache, and a FSB frequency of 1333 MHz. The price of the product will be $ 163 in a batch of 1000 units.

Although the E8190 is similar in spec to the E8200, it lacks support for virtualization and Trust Execution Technology, and will target the OEM market, where it could benefit from a slightly lower price for bulk purchases.

Intel also plans to release the Core 2 Duo E5000 family to replace the entry-level E4000 family. The first processor of the E5000 family is expected in April next year. So far, only its price is known – $ 133 in a batch of 1000 units.
